Organization Represented: Marching Band – The Chartiers-Houston Marching band is devoted to football half time shows, festivals, and other fall performances, as we as the Memorial Day parade every spring.

Year Established: The Chartiers-Houston School District was founded in 1955.
School Mascot: Buccaneers
School Colors: Maroon & Gold

School History Fact: Named for Peter Chartier (1690—1759) who established a trading post in the area in 1743.
Areas of Service: The Chartiers-Houston School District is composed of Chartiers Township and Houston Borough and is located just north of Washington, PA. The district is approximately 20 miles south of Pittsburgh and encompasses 25 square miles.
Estimated Enrolment: Our school system includes Allison Park Elementary School housing our K-6 student population and Chartiers-Houston Junior-Senior High School for our students in grades 7-12. Our average district enrollment is 1,145 students.
Description of Chartiers-Houston: We will strive to achieve excellence in every aspect of our school district with an emphasis on proficiency in reading, writing and mathematics to become the regional leader in K-12 public education.
What is unique about Chartiers-Houston? Extra-curricular and athletic activities play important roles in students’ lives and as such are an integral part of a student profile. The Chartiers-Houston School District recognizes the value of a balanced program of academics, athletics, arts and other extra curricular programs.
