Excel Sportswear’s Interview with our Featured “Design of the Week.”
This week’s featured design is this shirt from Carolina Fishing Tackle, LLC. The design features a fish skeleton, the CFT logo, some stylized “splash” art, and the slogan “Where Products Matter.”
Located in Mooresville, North Carolina, CFT provides the best lures and tackle for serious bass anglers. Their goal is to have professional anglers walk into the shop and be able to find anything they need or want. “We have the biggest selection of JDM products and swim baits in this half of the country,” boasts Doyle Myrick, owner of CFT.
Myrick was looking for a shirt design that would help him “stand out amongst the mom & pop tackle shops.”
Our artist on the shirt was Eric Poole. He fondly remembers working on the shirt this past August. “At first I drew the design with a different fish skeleton. I think it had a trout head,” Poole recalls. “They wanted something different, though, a big mouth bass.”
The shirt also has a more aggressive style than many fishing or tackle shop shirts on the market. “It’s unique,” says Poole. “It all really came together nicely, and it really looks great. It’s one of my favorites.”
